Stream of Consciousness

Things have been crazy around here.

It snowed.

Like 2 inches and the tristate is in an uproar.

I saw a man cross country skiing down the sidewalk today, and that is not a joke.

I almost wrecked doing a double take.

And I just typed wrecked with an R, that means I do not know how to spell and need to stop using predict a text.

I am now working in an Intensive Care Unit at a hospital and I love it!

It is definitely intense, but I guess it's why it's called that.

Raigan's birthday party was amazing and we were joined by family and friends and I couldn't have asked for anything better.

I'll post pictures as soon as I get a chance to breathe.

School started today. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself when I don't have school anymore this time next year.

We will be traveling with our girls to Washington DC in a few weeks, but are staying a night in Baltimore, MD.

I pick places to stay based on food.

Philadelphia (is on our list-we have not been there yet) for Phillie Cheese Stakes, Savannah for grits, and Baltimore of course for Crab.

Is it sad that I'm most excited about eating a legit Maryland Crab Cake?

It just may be, but it is who I am.

Happy Tuesday!

A List... not to be confused wtih "A" List

1. Tomorrow is my babies 1st birthday party. I'm pretty excited about it but also a little nervous for everything to come together.

2. I went to lunch today with my girl friends at a Thai restaurant. It was so overdue and I made me realize even more so that I desperately need to spend more time with them.

3. It snowed for about 5 minutes in Cincinnati during rush hour that resulted in a 3.5 hour drive home in traffic. People were driving like it was a blizzard and the snow wasn't even accumulating.

4. My husband went to a concert tonight that I got him tickets for as one of his Christmas gifts.

5. I started work in an ICU at a hospital in the area.

6. Spring semester starts Monday and I need a longer break, but I'm excited to see all the nursing girls again.

7. I somehow racked up a $50 library fine at the University library. I wasn't even sure that was possible, but apparently it is.

8. I have finally realized how expensive life is and have come to grips with it. I will be teaching my daughters that a good chunk of your money goes to taxes and insurances.

9. We tried out last week as a one car family and I have to say, I LOVED IT! I think Brandon did too, because he said more than once, "this really isn't so bad." I loved waking up in the morning and having someone drive me around spending the mornings together commuting as a family. It forced Bran to go into to work an hour early and get off an hour earlier which was really nice.

10. I've been thinking an awful lot about what I would like out of life as a whole. It always comes back to love, and I get to experience a lot of that day to day, which is a really beautiful thing.

11. The other day I experienced a family dealing with unpleasant circumstances. The mother (I'm assuming) was crying and the daughter (again, assuming) reached out for her mother's hand and at the moment they embraced each other all I could think about was wanting to be holding my camera and capturing such a beautiful moment. I think when people are experiencing times of adversity and choose to embrace it, pull together, and make it into a positive is one of the most beautiful processes of life. I just wanted to capture that in a photograph.

12. I am officially over winter and ready to open my windows and let the cool spring breeze in. I only have a few months to go...

13. Get ready for the longest 1st Birthday Party post tomorrow night after Raiggie's party!!

Goodnight.

A glimpse

I really enjoy blogging and  have almost grown to need to blog for my own sanity. It's such an outlet for me and a way to remember what I did yesterday because these days it's all starting to smush together.

My blog is a little glimpse into our lives.

My life Our lives are made up of a bunch of beautiful little things that add up to one really big amazing thing, and I don't want to miss any of those little things in the craziness of it all. I want to savor every day I get to love my husband and hear my girls laugh. I'm glad I get to share with you a little glimpes into our bathroom in a literal sense, but our lives in the proverbial senses.

Did you notice Raigan brushing both her teeth and hair? We multitask around here! haha

Hallmark

There are lots of things I'm in love with; my husband, my girls, the Lord, and Hallmark ornaments. Well really just Christmas ornaments in general I guess. In the past I have just had them all together wrapped up in a tissue paper and put in a cardboard CVS box and then we separate them and each put ours' up on the tree. This year, it's still weird that this is a new year, it will be simpler. I bought these cute see through totes and each person gets one:

Then I went a little crazy at Hallmark this past week when they had their ornaments 75% off.

Here's our little family in the form of Hallmark ornaments:

The total was nearly $200 for all of these full price, but I only paid around  $30 for all of these:

I have officially put away all of our Christmas decorations and such so it really does feel like a new year. I think a lot of great things are going to come this year and a few big changes. I'm excited, about the changes and these ornaments!

New Years Resolutions!

Oh brother if I write resolutions on my blog that means I'm even more obligated to fulfill them right?

I just really love the idea of a new year. I mean I know people can "change" things any time of the year, but something about January 1st makes it seem that much easier. As if you are given a clean plate to start out with and the past isn't take into account. The things one can do in the following year are endless and things change so quickly! Embrace the change and love every second of this life that we are given. It's a breath of fresh air the kind where you can breathe it in so deep and feel totally refreshed.

In 2011 I hope to (start with the most cliche of all...) loose 10 lbs of the baby weight I was supposed to loose this past year.

Be kinder to my husband! Why is it sometimes the one that stands by us through everything and supports us the most we are the meanest to? Not in 2011!

I hope to say "yes" to my girls more and no much less.
"Mom can we skip dinner and just eat ice cream?" Yes!
"Will you play Barbies with me?" Yes!
"Can we go to the park?" Yes!

I am set and determined to make it to church all 52 Sundays this year! I hope to grow closer to God and be more spiritual.

Volunteer more.

Graduate from college!

Enjoy the "bad" things in life and see them for the good opportunities they are!

Still get our passports (one of my resolutions from last year).

Be a little more selfish and find more time for myself, something I need.

What about you dear readers? What do you hope to achieve in the year 2011? The possibilities are endless.
