I love purses

Our conversation the other morning went a little like this:
Me:  “Brandon, can I buy a Louis Vuitton clutch?
Brandon: “What’s that?”
Me: “A purse.”
Riley: “Is that at lady’s day?” (I won a purse at the lady's day at our community center)
Me: “No, it’s at Saks.”
Riley: “Oh. I want you to have a red purse. A whole house of red purses, so you can jump in them.”
Me:  “Me too, baby.”
haha

Mamarazzi (Labor Day) Monday

Mamarazzi Monday Better late than never right? I hate that saying, and I hate to be late, but usually am..

Anyway, it's time for Mamarazzi Monday with Ann Maire at Household 6 Diva.
Sarah at Main Line Moms is still hosting.

I have been horrible at stalking my family with pictures this week, and if it really was my job to be a mamarazzi I wouldn't be getting a check for this weeks work. I have been taking pictures of objects with my camera for my photography class instead. I'm learning so much! Except if a picture is over exposed what do you fix first? The ISO? Aperture? Shutter speed? Anyone have the answer? Anyone?

We had a long weekend of laboring on this Labor Day weekend, I had to work, but what's new? We had a wonderful cookout at my dad's house, and watched the WEBN fireworks over the Ohio River.  I did not bring my camera... I know, shame on me. I did steal my nephews and snap a few photos though. About that later, here are my kids and our bounce house:

Raigan has learned to clap, which may be the sweetest thing I've ever seen. She gets so excited if you ask her.

Can you see Hub practicing his golf swing in the back left?

Here he is teaching our 3 year old how to chip, if that's what it's called.

What did you do for Labor Day?

Karma

I don't know if I really believe in Karma so much. Actually, I don't think I fully even understand what karma really is. But, I do think God has a funny way of teaching us things:

I was at the store Friday after I posted about not liking when other people take their babies into the store with only a diaper on. We were shopping when Raigan decides to poop, after having just been changed right before entering the store. It went everywhere. On her clothes, her car seat, on the changing table in the bathroom at the store. It was a mess, and guess what?

I had to undress her from her pooped clothes and of course had no other outfit for her, so I walked around the store with a baby in just a diaper.

I'm pretty sure God was trying to tell me not to judge mama's with their babies in diapers cause they are doing the best they can with what they have, just like this mama.

The end.

Five Question Friday

It's time for Five Question Friday with Mama M.

I try to do it every week, but you know, this silly thing called life gets in the way sometimes.

 1. What do you do when you have time to yourself?
Sleep. Blog. Shop. Times to myself to do whatever I'd like are few and far between. It's usually ohh I have five quiet minutes, I'll organize our bills, or fold and put laundry away without a toddler undoing it.

2. When you look out your kitchen window what do you see?
Our deck, backyard, trampoline, and the neighbor's house with their pet ducks.

3. Who/What would you want to be reincarnated as?
A bird, flying would be awesome!

4. What is your biggest pet peeve about other people's kids?
This may make me sound like a snob, but when people bring their babies into stores in diapers only. Especially if it's not hot outside.Oh and we were at an end of summer festival and this little boy who had to be no older than 7 or 8 kept talking about his "balls" where Riley could hear. Ew. It wasn't just one comment either. It was oh my .... are sweating. Ohh my.... itch...... kick me in the..... We didn't wait for that bounce house any longer. haha

5. Regular or diet soda?
Ew, as much as I try, I can't do diet. I waste a lot of my calories a day on cherry coke.

Grateful

Sitting on the couch the other day brushing Riley's hair. I thought to myself, damn, I am so grateful.

Grateful that I had warm clean water and soap to wash her hair with.

A safe house to have a roof over our head.

A soft couch to be sitting on.

This hairbrush.

The time I have to spend with her.

I hate that I take all these things for granted on a daily basis.

Thankful for my husband and his secure job.

Our family and friends.

My job.

An education.

My faith.

Our country.

Our girls.

Some days I need a reminder to stop and remember this. That's part of the reason I have been trying to live so simply lately. It's still definitely a work in progress.

Nothing Cuter

I'm pretty sure that there is nothing cuter than these pink little baby loafers...

Except maybe the baby girl wearing them!
