I have been on a Blogger sabbatical lately, it had been a really hard week. I have been working all week picking up all the hours I could. Hopefully everything will be back to normal tomorrow.

Splash Park

Last week we went to this splash park on the east side at Woodland Mounds. It was really cute.

It had an amazing view of the Ohio river, even though I didn't do a very good job of capturing it, but you can see it peaking in the background there can't you?

Raigan just kind of hung out in my arms the whole time and was kind of like, "Ugh, Mom, where do you have me today." Riley on the other hand played it up! I was trying to convince Raggie to take a nap in her car seat here, but she wasn't having any part of that. This child loves her bed, she literally sighs when you put her in it. If I would have known that she wasn't going to nap, I wouldn't have carried her car seat across the mile long parking lot so she could nap in shade since our stroller was left in our other vehicle at my husband's work. Anyway, back to this cool splash park...

All the water features were really cute themed! They weren't just boring buckets like usual. This one is a swan, I think?

Not Me Monday!

When we were stuck in stand still traffic driving back from the lake, I did not pull to a side road so my toddler could pop a squat and pee because we had no other choice. I would never do that. That is totally crazy. haha

This week I did not have a patient come to the pharmacy downtown and say, "Is syphilis back?" I did NOT pass it off as him being drunk (because he smelled of alcohol bad) or mentally ill to later find out that there is actually a bus and billboards around the Cincinnati/Nky area that say Syphilis is here. I always listen to patients and take them for their word and don't judge others. Not me!

I have not allowed my 3 year old to miss t ball practice and games 2 times in a row now, because she told me she doesn't want to go and thinks it is boring. I force her to do all activities she is in because after all she is grown and not still a very advanced toddler.

Whew, I feel much better because I didn't do any of those things.

Happy 4th of July

I have a love affair with cupcakes. I think the teachers at Riley's preschool think I'm a little bit of a weirdo because I bake and send in cupcakes more than any normal parent should during the school year. It relaxes me, that's weird, I know. It's summer time, so that means I need to find other people to eat my cupcakes so I don't.

Happy 4th of July. I love you America. Thanks for all of my blessings that you give me the freedoms to have.

All over the place

I worked downtown Cincinnati today. Boy, it's a whole other world down there. I like the diversity that I get to experience down there though. I work with a Vietnamese pharmacist, and get to meet patients from all over the country and lots of different backgrounds. The high school I went to there was literally one African American girl, one Hispanic girl, and that was it, everyone else was Caucasian.

My mom got a new dog, John Boy, he's a pug, and he's so ugly that he's cute.

My sister in law is marrying my brother this month and I'm her maid of honor. I'm pretty excited about the Bridal Shower I'm hosting for her next week, and the party supplies I bought. I love party supplies.

I have to work all weekend. Brandon and I have been sick the past few days with some freak virus. He has had it a lot worse than I did. I had one day where I was out, and mainly have been fighting a monster sore throat and dizziness. He on the other hand has been totally out of commission for the past two days. Poor guy. I used to get so excited about the 4th of July, but this year, I'm just like ah whatever. Perhaps it's this freak virus fatigue.

Ok, I think that's it.

Five Question Friday

1. What is one thing you miss the most about your childhood? Sleep. I don't get much of it as a mommy to two young babies. Nap times, sleeping in, all of it.
2. Are you still friends with your friends from high school? Heck yes. Most of my friends are from high school. We have grown up together, and it's kind of nuts how far we've come, and how close we've stayed together.  3. Is there a catch phrase, cliche, or word that just drives you bonkers every time you hear it? Not myself, but I sometimes use the phrase "Actin' a food" and it drives my husband nuts haha  4. What is one thing that you think symbolizes America... besides "Old Glory"? Like Mama M... Chicken fried, cold beer on a friday night, and a pair of jeans that fit just right. And children. Children playing.   5. What are your 4th of July weekend plans? I too have to work. But you better believe I'm going to be eating cookout foods like it's my job, cause I love! baked beans, deviled eggs, potato salad, watermelon, (I could go on and on forever) when I get off.
