Day 14

Day 14 - A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without.

I know this isn't a picture of a person but rather a representation of a person, that person or being being God. I could not imagine my life without the companionship, love, and forgiveness of God.

(I'm going to cheat and say two "people" even though I'm not sure if you could call God a person? but the other being my Husband. I would lose my mind, or what's left of it after this crazy year, without him.)

Raigan Is Making Progress!

Although Raigan has only taken maybe 3 real steps without assistance, she has mastered standing. To see how proud she is of herself written all over her face just warms my heart. Riley started walking the day after her first birthday and I think it's normal to compare the first child to others, but Raiggie is definitely one of her own. I'm sure it will be any day now, but until then I'm going to savor every little last baby bit she'll let me. Although she is not walking her vocabulary continues to explode. She now says, "got to go, got to go!" haha funny how kids pick up on things...

Raigan and Riley both are so in love with water and swimming. Brandon took the girls swimming one day this week so I could take a desperately needed nap and when he asked if they were ready to go to Silverlake (our community center) Raigan came barreling down the hall saying "Go! Go! Go!" and even turned to her sister and said, "Sissy, Go!"

I'm so in love with this little 14 month old that some days I think I could just kiss her little cheek off!

Day 13

Day 13 - A picture of your favorite band or artist.

I love all kinds of music, but Rihana is one of many and much prettier than Dave Matthews haha

Happy 4th Birthday Riley Michelle!

Today was my baby's 4th birthday. 4! I can hardly believe it. These past 4 years have gone by so fast, I can't even comprehend it. It makes me want to breathe in every second from here forward because they are fleeting so quickly. Riley went to preschool today and I wanted to send a cake for snack time, so I tried to make this:

but... it being my first attempt didn't turn out perfectly. haha I ran our of icing, but really there was more the whole time in the rest of the groceries I hadn't put away yet. I had to take my mom to the hospital this morning because she hopefully had her last surgery today for her kidney stones. On my way back I just bought her a sheet cake to take in for her class. So we ate the rainbow cake this afternoon as a family and sang happy birthday to my newly 4 year old.

It's hard to get a picture of her since she won't put down the little Barbie PDA thing her great grandparents got her for her birthday. It's frustrating, but quite cute.

We are going tomorrow for her 4 year old check up where she will get 4 shots. I haven't told her yet, and I'm a little fearful for her. I wish I could get them for her because shots are no big deal to me, but to my baby? Ugh.

I'm excited to see what percentile she will fall into because she's usually in the 10th percentile for weight and 70 to 90th for height.

Speaking of birthdays, my friend Jamie had her baby last night and her and Riley will share a birthday. That's so fun. Last week I took pictures of Jamie's pregnant belly that I have been intending to share here, but haven't had time to go through and edit any yet. Here's one SOTC (straight out of the camera):

Day 12

Day 12 - A picture of something you love.

Of course you get the idea that I love my family. So here is one of my loves for a material thing.

 Shoes.

This is Mariah Carey's shoe closet. I'm going to go ahead and assume that it is bigger than my bedroom. Ahh to have that many shoes and for them to be that organized. A girl can dream.

Day 11

Day 11 - A picture of something you hate.

This is the parking at Northern Kentucky University.

I'm sure you're thinking, oh, nice garage. No.

They have two garages that are always full and never close to anywhere anyone needs to be other than administration.

The parking lot closest to the nursing building is almost always full, inevitably when you are running late, and is not even paved. It's just gravel.

When it rains this lot, among others turns into puddle city. You have to practically swim to class and then the bottoms of you pants and shoes are wet. When you open the car door, you literally have to stand in your car and jump to a dry spot.

And then! in the winter it's a skating rink, naturally.

I have nothing good to say about NKU parking other than the fact that they are probably making a large profit because the hundreds of dollars us students pay to park there certainly isn't going towards anything other than the salaries of the people that drive around and ticket cars.
I occasionally drive my husband's truck to class but have to pay to park in the garages (that are super far away) even though I pay hundreds of dollars for a parking pass, but it's not associated with his truck, so it doesn't count.

I could go on and on about this, but I'll spare you anymore.

I also should receive a plaque in the parking services office that reads:

"Megan Herald #1 Customer for Parking Tickets"

for all the stupid things that I have had to pay tickets for.

Day 10

Day 10 - A picture of the person you do the most crazy things with.

I know this may just seem like a cop out to show you more pictures of my daughters (which is getting harder to do I might add) but it's really not.

I have done more crazt things with these two children that I had ever seen myself doing.

That I even thought I was capable of doing.

These two little bundles have pushed me beyond my bounds physically, emotionally, and have stretched my heart so large that I thought at times that it may just explode. I never knew what it meant to love and love life until I had these two.

They push me to be a better person every day.

They ground me everyday.

They teach me to just laugh it off when they poop in the bathtub.

They teach me that sometimes it's okay to watch Strawberry Shortcake movies more than once back to back and eat ice cream more often than we should.

I have even jumped in a pool fully clothed including shoes for one of these girls.

These are only a few of the crazy things that come to mind. Forget all the crazy stuff I have blacked out from my memory. haha Just kidding... I hope.

I hope to continue to be apart of this crazy ride that is our lives until their own children force them to experience crazy things. I hope to be right there experiencing them also, just standing a little further back.
